how it all began…

Our story begins a little over 7 years ago, when my daughter Taylor Reese and I moved back to Michigan. As a single mom, I couldn't continue my former career path without sacrificing time with my daughter. While having lunch with my dad, he suggested I open a store in the building our family owns.  After all, having watched my mom run her own store my whole life, I somewhat 'knew' what it was all about (yea right!).  But I saw the need for a place to go to buy a thoughtful gift or unique item for yourself, the home, or a friend, without having to drive 30 or more minutes away.  I started with what I liked, and seven months later, Taylor Reese opened in May 2015. I have continued that formula of only buying what I would personally use, like, or wear so that I can stand behind the quality of every product. It's been a learning experience every step of the way, and we have had our hiccups, but it's been the most rewarding endeavor I have ever done. Fast forward a couple of years, and now we are a family of 5, and have expanded to bring another new concept to Grosse Pointe:  the waterless manicure and pedicure. Am I some crazy nail guru? Absolutely not! This idea was founded on my own personal need and want for a place to go and have a fabulous pedi in a calm, organic environment. We go beyond nails & have created a boutique ‘spa’ on our second floor that has waxing, massage, permanent makeup and outstanding facial services. We have set our standards high and want everyone who comes thru our door to have an amazing experience.
